Healthcare reform might not mean reform for some who need it most. Those who make too much to qualify for government subsidies, but aren’t exactly pulling down huge bucks should have a ton of interest in making sure that changes to the healthcare system ensure their care is affordable. This a well-cited problem in the current system, make sure it isn’t part of the future one.

A doctor’s take on the importance of  a preventive care incentive in future reform.

Q and A with Dr. Allan S. Brett on those “uniquely American values” in the health care debate. Everytime a politician makes a remark that perrtains to the “American value system” I shutter. If all the partisan nonsense has taught us anything, its that a consensus set of  values does not exist. Maybe the President’s most recent speech will change some of that, or at least push us to agree on one value—the ability to compromise.

Three reporters help sort through the fact(s) and fictionswirling around the healthcare discussion.

Bonus pick: This may not be the most impartial piece(written by a doctor railing against insurance companies), but it is interesting. The doctor’s blog collected the CEO salaries of major health care companies as reported by Forbes. While the post is a bit old(2007), the point is still well taken.

Each week the more informative or interesting health care reads I’ve come across are posted. Many of the best pieces are brought to my attention by others, please do not hesitate to share.
